I find this car to be much cooler looking than I should. It may embrace curves and swooping lines in the same way Volvo embraced the boxy style, and I think because of this, the roundness adds character. It's not particularly attractive (although it is not particularly ugly), nor does it have a very redeeming driving experience (except in GTR, all-trac, or GT-Four guise) but it epitomizes the 90s in the same way certain other cars such as the '57 Bel Air and '79 Trans Am did that became classics by being so representative of their respective decades. So, who knows—in 30 years, we may think about these very round 90s cars and boxy 80s cars like the Foxbody the way we think now about the current "classics" (while possibly not FWD cars such as this Celica). After all, many of us can attest to the fact that some car like a 350 Chevelle was that car that they picked up cheap and would hoon on a dirt road in the late 70s or 80s; those types of cars have gone from "crappy old gas guzzler" to "legendary classic" because of how well they depicted their automotive era and were, relatively speaking, good.

The celica gave me something for you!

I always thought the 5th and 6th gen celicas were nice looking. Too bad about those engines though.
If you really like them, you should seek out an alltrac. Word is they've got pretty good potential.

I've heard so, too. The alltrac turbos are pretty rare and unrecognized, but they are definitely impressive and underrated cars. Not a bad sound, either!

Yes, i used to own one (a 4th generation though, not the good looking 5th gen.)
That dyno graph was reading 860hp by the way. To all four wheels. With wheelspin.

Ah, very cool. I like the 4th gen pretty well, although it just doesn't have such distinct styling. Crazy power figures! I approve of any AWD car that spins its tires on a dyno.

I really like the looks of the T18 celicas and my first car was(or better is) one. It's definitely better looking than the cars most of my friends drive. Their cars reach from a Dacia Duster to a Kia Cee'd.... oh and we all know that everything looks better with pop-up headlights.
Here's a picture of mine...
It's the only good photo I have, kinda sad when you consider that this is about 2 years old and she needed a new engine since then....

Very nice! The wheels really complete the car. This picture really makes me want a Celica, but it sucks that you had to replace the engine. Very nice car, nonetheless.

Thank you, looking bakc the engine was not in a good condition since i have this car. I mean there never were any problems, but it never ran as smooth as the replacement engine does and I'm pretty sure it had less power from the beginning.
It was probably a bad idea though to take her on a track about 2500 km after getting a new head gasket in the first engine....
